MiLB Stadiums

While visiting all of the major league baseball stadiums is a life long goal of mine, visiting all the minor league baseball parks isn't. I have, however, been to a few of them and this is how I would rank them.

1. Alliance Bank Stadium
Syracuse Chiefs (AAA - Toronto Blue Jays)

This park and the next are interchangeable depending on what you are looking for. I put this park in the first spot simply for the experiences I have had there. They get roughly 5,000 fans to a game and the fans do care about their team - to them it is not a minor league team, it is the only baseball they have. The atmosphere is very laid back and I even spent one game interacting with the bullpen. The players are quite accessable before and after the game which is something I do enjoy. The park is also just down the street from a shopping mall so I can get to my Bath & Body Works before the game and it is close enough that we can drive there from Toronto and back in a single day.

2. Dunn Tire Park
Buffalo Bisons (AAA - Cleveland Indians)

This park most closely resembles a major league ballpark. They get over 10,000 fans out to a game and you have the real feel of a major league game. It is not as easy to get to the players before the game and I wasn't able to figure out where to meet them after the game. They do have the ice cream dots and they come in a helmet cup though :o)

3. Lynx Stadium
Ottawa Lynx (AAA - Baltimore Orioles (now New York Mets))

I am sure that no matter how many MiLB stadiums I get to this will never move from last place. The city doesn't care about baseball and they had less than 1,000 fans at the game - granted, it looked like rain and we were not sure the game would even take place. I can't complain too much about the food as we were there on 25 cent hotdog day, but they didn't have good beer! I can't imagine being a player in this stadium as there is absolutely no atmosphere. They do have the best mascot I have seen though.

I really enjoy going to Major League parks because every one is different but going to Minor League parks is fun too, even though they are all pretty much the same. I like to see small cities actually support minor league sports unlike Toronto where they only care about the pros and only when their winning at that. Syracuse really takes their team seriously and has a lot of fun at the game.
