As a Jays fan I am starting to realize that I won't see meaningful baseball in September despite how the team looked on paper.
However, as I look towards my baseball trip to New York , I am beginning to believe that I just may get to enjoy a game with a strong impact for each team and their chances for post-season baseball. At the moment the Tampa Bay Rays sit at the top of the American League East division with the Yankees sitting 9.5 games back. The Yankees are also 6.5 games back from the Wild Card with Boston leading the pack. The Yankees seem to be pretty far behind right now, but given their history and tendancy for making a late push I can see them closing the gap somewhat in the time that remains.
I have been looking forward to the atmosphere at Yankee Stadium in general, but to see a team as they make a realistic push towards the playoffs is definately something the baseball fan in me will enjoy, even if the Jays fan in me hates that it is the Yankees.

I don't think this game is going to mean much to the Yanks but it will be fun to watch a first place team play...one that isn't the Yanks or Sox (the red ones not the white ones).
